March Madness 2017: Schedule for Sweet 16 and Elite Eight

  • Tue, 21 Mar 2017 04:26

It’s time to figure out who will go to the Final Four

After a wild weekend of college basketball, there are only 16 teams left.

The Sweet 16 is about who isn’t here just as much as who is. There is no Villanova or Duke or Louisville. In there place is just about everyone you’d expect to be here besides No. 7 South Carolina. The Gamecocks haven’t been to a Sweet 16 in, well, ever. After taking down the Blue Devils they’re a part of the second weekend party.

All games will be streamed live on NCAA.com.

Sweet 16 schedule (all times eastern)

Thursday, March 23

Looking for a marquee matchup? You’re probably looking for Kansas vs. Purdue then. The Boilermakers boast Caleb Swanigan, the nation’s best big man. He goes against a Kansas team led by Frank Mason, one of the country’s best backcourt player this season. Look for freshman Josh Jackson to get in on the fun as well as a talented Jayhawks backcourt threat.

No. 3 Oregon vs. No. 7 Michigan (7:09 p.m., CBS)

No. 1 Gonzaga vs. No. 4 West Virginia (7:39 p.m., TBS)

No. 1 Kansas vs. No. 4 Purdue (Approximately 9:39 p.m., CBS)

No. 2 Arizona vs. No. 11 Xavier (Approximately 10:09 p.m., TBS)

The headliner here is the blue blood rematch between Kentucky and UCLA. Earlier this season in Rupp Arena, the Bruins ended Kentucky’s 42-game winning streak with a 97-92 win. That was then, this is now. Both teams are humming and playing as well as they have all season. Will we get another classic?

No. 1 North Carolina vs. No. 4 Butler (7:09 p.m., CBS)

No. 3 Baylor vs. No. 7 South Carolina (7:29 p.m., TBS)

No. 2 Kentucky vs. No. 3 UCLA (Approximately 9:30 p.m., CBS)
